![]() Hardworking Woman Needs Dental Help Details: Many people visit Cahaba Valley Health Care and need dental care similar to Darlene Domit (see video). This care is made possible through generous donations from people like you. One recent visitor to CVHC was Sandra, she came to our screening, wearing her church clothes, and a shy, closed mouthed smile. She was looking for some help with her teeth. She had worked in various jobs, most recently as a nanny, until she was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a cancer originating in the bone marrow. Sandra received the standard curative treatment--2 bone marrow transplants--and she is in complete remission. However, the treatments and chemo wreaked havoc on her teeth. She needs several extractions, as well as partials and bridges. The estimate for her dental care at UAB School of Dentistry is $3300. Sandra is on disability, but that program, like all other governmental programs, has no provision or dental care. Sandra's income is $756 per month, and $3,300 may as well be $33,000,000. We at CVHC want to help her get this dental work and your donation will help make this possible. This unfortunate, hard working lady deserves to get her smile back! Thank you for any donation you can make at this time. |
